The Lifestyle Poll is an online survey developed by Dr. Shauna Springer, a practicing Psychologist with professional expertise in close relationships and career and identity development. The Lifestyle Poll targets individuals in the "launching years," which is generally between ages 25-40 when careers, marriages, and families are typically being established. Questions in the survey focus on common areas of concern during this time period, and assess the decisions and compromises that people make in pursuing fulfilling lives. Click

Phase 1 involved collecting data from a sample of women. • The quantitative portion of the poll is currently being revised. Based on the success of the first phase of the project, the scope of the project will be expanded to include any individuals between the ages of 25-40, whether female or male, gay or straight, single, dating, formally committed or married. • The launch of the next phase of the Lifestyle Poll Project is planned for June 1st. • Data collection is still open for a number of open-ended questions (access will be granted by clicking on the link above). Sample open-ended questions include… How do you think your “first love” experience has affected your later relationships? Were you aware of the sacrifices you would be required to make when you entered your graduate school program? Was it worth it? To what extent have your life choices been constrained by the social class into which you were born? What has been your biggest personal betrayal and how has this shaped the person you are today? How do you balance the desire to have a good income with working in a field or area that genuinely interests you? |
